The world-renowned Canadian entertainment company has recently announced that Mad Apple, the New York-inspired Cirque du Soleil show currently playing at New York-New York Hotel & Casino, will conclude its four-year run on 5 September.
On the show’s official Instagram account, a post was published on 16 August regarding the show’s final bow:
“One last bite.
On September 5, 2026, Mad Apple will take its final bow.
Since opening night, we’ve welcomed more than 1.2M spectators, bringing together acrobatics, live music, dance, magic, and stand-up comedy in a way only Las Vegas could. For the next two weeks, we’re turning the volume all the way up. Join us for the final performances and help us send Mad Apple out in true New York style. Thank you for being part of the madness.”
Cirque du Soleil CEO Mark Cornell said that the company looks forward to developing its next generation of Cirque shows for Sin City. Cirque is also supporting the Mad Apple cast, technicians and staff through the transition, including possible opportunities to move into other productions where available.
The theatre was once home to Zumanity, another iconic Cirque du Soleil production, but it has been home to Mad Apple since May 2022. As reported on the company’s website,
“Mad Apple is a delicious Cirque du Soleil cocktail of breathtaking acrobatics, pulsating music, dynamic dance, and side-splitting comedy, celebrating the city that never sleeps.”
The New York-inspired show combines stunning acts such as hoop diving, Russian cradle, hair hanging and many others. It also features stand-up comedy as a headlining act, marking a complete first in Cirque du Soleil history.
While Mad Apple is having its final curtain call, the Vegas Strip will still be home to four legendary Cirque du Soleil shows: O at Bellagio, KÀ at MGM Grand, Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay and Mystère at Treasure Island. Each one stands out for different reasons and will leave its audience in awe!
Fans have a little more than a week to experience the show before it closes for good.
